Crew : Andy, Helen, Richard, Dave, Anita and Gerry
Destinations : The Ramsholt Arms
Distance : 17 Nautical Miles

23rd October  Shotley-Ramsholt. (7 nautical miles)

Andy’s official birthday today. Richard, Phil, Dave, Anita and Gerry came up last night. Had supper on boat. Andy would NOT stay in bed this morning so we had some difficulty getting the balloons on in secret. However, once they were there they were there for the weekend. We locked out at 10am and entered the river Deben with no problems, despite it being Gerry’s first experience of navigating. Tested the tender and went for a walk after finding a mooring buoy at 15.30, Richard had a nap. On the way back we ran out of petrol. It was oars for the rest of the weekend. We had a nice meal in the Ramsholt Arms. Although the steaks were over done, they were very apologetic and replaced them.

24th October  Ramsholt-Shotley (10 nautical miles)

Richard had a lie in. We then had bacon for breakfast (except Phil of course) Left Ramsholt at 11am to catch the tide at an appropriate moment. Had some wind on our way to Roughs Tower. However this vanished as we entered Harwich Harbour. Helen parked boat again. Boat cleaned and pressure washer connected up. This clearly needs some adjustments before it will be able to clean the bathing platform.
