5 th July 2012

When we woke it was still warm and very quiet outside. For the first time we could be in teeshirts in the cockpit for breakfast. We waved goodbye to the seals and left around 1000 as we had favourable tides until around 1300 and we were just going across the Sound of Jura to Craighouse on Jura.

We sailed slowly down Loch Sween with Force 2-3 winds on our stern quarter. Andy got the cruising chute up which was surprisingly fuss free and I tried to catch some mackerel for tea (but failed) whilst admiring the approach of Jura.

We arrived at Craighouse by 1430 in time for a stroll up to the cemetery where we found the mausoleum of the Campbells of Jura and Andy picked up a tick. We are now on the alert for the symptoms of Limes Disease. The weather continued to be warm and sunny although the clouds were starting to build up. We expected a shower at one point, when it went very dark and a breeze came and went, but no rain appeared.
